Hi, I’m Chris Yim. I’m a guitarist and songwriter based in Orange County, California. For me, the guitar isn’t just an instrument—it’s a way to tell stories and create space for people to pause, reflect, and connect.
My style blends fingerstyle playing with layered, atmospheric textures. I’ve been shaped by artists like José González and Jack Johnson, but over the years I’ve worked to carve out a sound that feels like my own.
I play both as a solo artist and as the guitarist for my wife’s project, FINLAY, where we get to dream up songs and performances together. Whether I’m arranging in the studio or playing live, I love those moments when music draws people in and makes them feel something real.
When I’m not performing, you’ll probably find me in the water. I’ve always felt at home in the ocean—whether I’m surfing the local breaks or spearfishing beneath the surface, it’s where I recharge and find inspiration that often finds its way back into my music.
